Hellborg/Lane/Sipe
Temporal Analogues Of Paradise
The Story
Guitarist Shawn Lane rules the roost on "Temporal Analogues Of Paradise", along with bassist Jonas Hellborg and drummer Jeff Sipe, recorded live in 1995 in Sweden, Germany and France with the Bardo Mobile. Yes there's only two long instrumental tracks, so there was some cuttin' and pastin' to get "1st Movement" and "2nd Movement". Tony Green at Guitar World magazine wrote, ""With its emphasis on sensitive interplay, tasteful phrasing and motivic exploration, "Temporal Analogues Of Paradise" is - dare I say it - enough to make the world safe for fusion again," while Bill Milkowski (Pulse) chips in with, "Shameless chops - grandstanding of the highest order underscored by near-telepathic interplay." Jon Newey of Jazzwise Magazine may sum it up best, "One of the most riveting improvised jazz-rock albums of the last decade."
