Adrian Legg
Waiting For A Dancer
The Story
On "Waiting For A Dancer", fingerstylist Adrian Legg takes full advantage of the electric/acoustic qualities of his Ovation guitar ("Son Of Kiss Curl" is electric) on eleven instrumentals that will amaze, delight and confound the senses. Legg uses a right-hand banjo roll to obtain a kind of tremelo effect on songs such as "Carolina Sunday Waltz" and plays his melodies over the top, for stunning results. Literally, you hear notes coming at you from every direction - "Waiting For A Dancer" is a real sonic treat. Legg offers more examples of his knuckle-busting dexterity and Pentium-speed runs in tunes such as "Ragged Nail" and "Widdershins" (which ends with a slurred section and a graceful, slow glissando). For another fine example of Legg's technical mastery of the acoustic guitar, revisit the songs on "Waiting For A Dancer".
