Deep Purple was one of the first hard rock acts to be labeled as "Metal" and has been a staple in our Heavy Metal diet ever since. Deep Purple has hugged the curves on their long and winding road like some "Highway Star". Surving the trials and tribulations cast before them, including the loss of founding member Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple, on "Australia '99: Total Abandon", is still entertaining their loyal audience. Stepping in for the absent Mr. Blackmore comes an old-school guitar hero who is willing and unafraid to fill this Deep void; Steve Morse. Morse (Kansas, Dixie Dreggs, Steve Morse Band) a versatile, innovative, and impassioned guitarist, became instantly accepted and completed this Purple circle.
