His objectives are straightforward, "To join or form a super rock group, tour the world, record and sell tons of albums, and have a life-long career in music as a musician." To this end, Puerto Rico's Eric Serrano grabbed a bass, a drum machine, and his guitar and recorded his sixteen-song demo CD-R. The music was recorded between 2002 and 2005 and showcases Serrano's agility on the guitar and his mind blowing, bombastic solo spots, while raiding the instrumental rock riff archive with enthusiasm and discretion. Tracks such as "High Octane" and "Lethal Kiss" will attract the Satriani/Vai crowd, while "Rocka Rolla" and "Nostalgia" are earlier demo tracks that show where Serrano was several years ago, and laid a foundation for future compositions.
Eric was born in 1976, and since the age of six has taken a serious interest in music. He began composing and recording his own music at the age of twelve with a karaoke machine and his guitar. At age nineteen, he was writing complete songs and recording them on a 4-track tape recorder. During college (1995-2000) Eric was playing in two local bands and working on demos, playing all the instruments and doing all the recording. He completed several demo records in 2003, and since that time has decided to live for music, planning to study both recording engineering and music. Eric will do whatever it will take to further his education and have fun making music.
Serrano has been influenced by dozens of musicians and bands over the years, including Menudo, the Monkees, Ritchie Valens, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, Guns 'N Roses, the Black Crowes, Poison, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Rush, Yes, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dream Theater.
