G3 Live In Concert
The Story
The teaming of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson for concert dates around the world answered the prayers of guitar fanatics, and exceeded expecations. The trio toured the United States as G3 in 1996, which is when the recordings that comprise "G3 Live In Concert" were made. Each guitarist has three solo tracks, and they perform together for three tracks. Satriani, Vai and Johnson all are masters of dynamics, unloading their most furious runs at key moments for maximum effect on tracks such as Satriani's "Summer Song", Johnson's "Zap" and Vai's "The Attitude Song". "G3 Live In Concert" is tasteful and chock full o' great playing and that's what makes this record a serious treasure for hard rock guitar fanatics.
