The Hungarian Minor/Double Harmonic Minor Scale

Learning scales is an important part of music education. But what's also important is that we teach how these scales can be used to actually MAKE music. This is something that unfortunately gets left out all too often.

I thought today that we would dive into one of the most unique exotic scales for guitar, and that is the Hungarian Minor/the Double Harmonic Minor scale.

When first learning this scale, it can be hard to imagine what kind of music could actually be made using it. So that is exactly what I am going to go over in the following video. I will show the chords and different harmony that comes out of this particular scale, as well as how to embrace the dissonance within it.

So stop using the same major scale to write all your music and start challenging yourself to something a little different!
