The Story
"Written In The Sand" features the 1996 version of the Michael Schenker Band, with Barry Sparks on bass, Shane Gaalaas on drums, and Leif Sundin on vocals. Produced by Ron Nevison, the excellent clarity and sound of Schenker's guitar can be enjoyed in it's full sonic glory, especially on trademark hard rockers such as "Love Never Dies" or the superb instrumental track, "Essenz", dedicated to Schenker's daughter. Strong riffs also abound on "Written In The Sand", such as on the opening track "Brave New World", and on "Take Me Through The Night". Fans of Schenker's overall mid-to-late-'90s output will enjoy this CD immensely; the solos are hot and really satisfy.
