Racer X
Getting Heavier
The Story
Racer X, led by Paul Gilbert's aggressive guitar work, remain one of the most intense progressive metal outfits in the world with a legion of fans spanning the Globe. Their 2002 CD, "Getting Heavier", featuring the instrumental track "Catapult To Extinction", was released in Japan before being licensed and released by Shrapnel Records in the United States. As Paul Gilbert states, ""Getting Heavier" has 12 brand new Racert X songs written and recorded in September and October of 2002. Jeff, John, Scott, and I locked ourselves in my Las Vegas recording studio and cranked out serious grooves, insane guitar playing, and the best singing Jeff has ever done. John got such a huge bass sound, that I didn't need many extra guitar overdubs. "Getting Heavier" is basically the sound of the band playing and singing. All natural. No additives. It's more nutritious and better for you."
