The Reality Of New Media Sites

It seems like every week we hear about a new website that we absolutely have to have our music on. If we don't, we will supposedly miss the millions of fans wandering around on the Internet and when we do, nothing happens. Then we hear how
radio will never play our songs, all the record stores are closing, how we shouldn't make CDs because it will all be downloads but then again, everyone will steal our songs and so on, and so on. They stop short of saying the world will come to an end. Well, they do say that too.

We all fall into the trap of looking for some magical way of getting attention. But the truth is that you started playing music and writing songs because you had something to say. Your songs and lyrics have a purpose and when you stop and think about it, you can put your songs on all the new sites and mail it to every media person in the world and not much is going to happen. The reality is that you are selling more CDs at your shows and generating more interest online due to a lot of the promotion you are doing offline.

To be successful in your career of getting new fans to hear your music and to really listen to the importance of what you have to say, we have to build relationships with our fans. When we have a real relationship with our fans, they want to come to our shows, they want to buy our CDs and downloads and they want to support us. Why? Because they know us. They can hear what we are saying in our songs and they know what we are saying is important.

I am getting together a group of hand picked independent music artists who feel they have something to say with their music and feel that other people can benefit by hearing it and getting to know them. These are artists who like to play shows, meet new fans and would like to develop relationships with radio stations and
press. We are going to spend 3 days together in which I will show you how you are going to start getting some of the hundreds of thousands or millions of people in your home town and state to hear what you have to say.

When you learn how to start getting hundreds of new people to your shows instead of the same ones, you can sell more CDs, downloads and other merchandise. Not only will you be profitable but major artists will want you to open for them and film and TV placement for your songs will be a lot easier. Plus, how many sponsors do you think will want to pay you to get to your fans?

Join me at Music Strategies and learn how you can build a new fan base at home and in your home state and move your career to the next level.
