Rippingtons
Moonlighting
The Story
"Moonlighting" was guitarist Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons first CD release, and interestingly, was thought to just be a one-time, one-album project for the group of musicians, which included pianist David Benoit, drummer Tony Morales, sax man Brandon Fields, EWI guru Dave Koz, among others. Little did they know that the success of this album would lead to almost a dozen more. Recorded shortly after Freeman's 1985 solo album "Nocturnal Playground", the guitarist wrote and arrranged all the tunes for the gathering of stellar musicians. "Moonlighting" includes audience favorites "She Likes To Watch", "Dreams" and the title track - the beginning of an era for Freeman and the Ripps.
