Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Trial By Fire: Live In Leningrad
Yngwie J. Malmsteen's 1989 release, "Trial By Fire: Live In Leningrad", was recorded live at Leningrad SKK Stadium (dates unknown). The CD features a blazing version of Jimi Hendrix' "Spanish Castle Magic", which closes the show and the album. "Far Beyond The Sun" is another standout track, with Yngwie's nod to Paganini opening the track, and some mind-numbing solos providing the six-string fireworks. "Trial By Fire: Live In Leningrad" was recorded with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, Jens and Anders Johansson on keyboards and drums, and Barry Dunaway on bass.
