Jon Butcher
Positively The Blues
The Story
"Positively The Blues" marks Jon Butcher's debut effort for Shrapnel Records Blues Bureau International division. Reminiscent of his early solo albums and his work with Barefoot Servants, guitarist Jon Butcher crafts his songwriting abilities towards a more traditional blues/rock feel, running the gamut from grinding slow blues to intense shuffles. Co-produced by guitarist/keyboard player Ben Schultz, "Positively The Blues" features a fiery, positively Hendrixian, instrumental cut, "At The Feet Of The Master". Plenty of incendiary blues playing, greasy, slippery slide and down home blues rhythms for afficionados of the genre.
